Arangetram vom TCFA Absolventen Janagan Mathanamohan (2024)

Schüler vom Netzwerk Konnakol Deutschland Chairman Anushaant Nayinai Wijayan (siehe auch mein Glückwunsch-Schreiben)

Dear Janagan Mathanamohan,

on behalf of Netzwerk Konnakol Deutschland, I wish you the very best for your Arangetram. Soon, you will be able to carry the art of your Carnatic music tradition around the world.

As always, your teacher Anushaant has invested all his outstanding knowledge, wisdom, rhythm skills, and love for the Germany-based Carnatic community to raise another student. I met him in 2018 at his TCFA Academy in Essen. Although we have different musical backgrounds, we share our passion for rhythm to this day and started our network to give Western music students a new tool for learning complex rhythms: Konnakol - which originates in your rich culture.

You have learned this rhythm language for several years, so all the syllables might flow with ease through your muscles, heart, soul, and brain now. While we spread Konnakol as a technique into non-carnatic worlds, we also emphasize the roots and traditional forms in which it has developed in its coherent aesthetic context. That's why events like your Arangetram are so important for your culture - and it is also a door for Western students who might want to experience the traditional music world behind Konnakol as a pure technique.

I, and the whole Netzwerk Konnakol Deutschland team, wish you all the best.

With kind regards,
Johannes Winkler
